Course Overview
The La Jolie Ronde structured course, available in French and from Summer 2008 in Spanish, is for 5 to 11 year olds and can be structured over a period of 6 years. It has what we believe to be a unique approach by having three alternative starting points:
FRENCH
- Les aventures de Minou et Trottine et les saisons for 5 – 7 year olds.
- Salut Céline et Antoine! for 7 – 8 year olds.
- Bonjour la France for 8 – 11 year olds.
Pupils then progress on to Mon Tour de France (9 – 11 year olds).
SPANISH
- Las aventuras de Mifú y Tina y las estaciones for 5 – 7 year olds.
- Hola Pedro y Carmen for 7 – 8 year olds.
- Buenos días España for 8 – 11 year olds.
Pupils then progress on to Mi viaje por España (9 – 11 year olds).
Children learn through a diversity of oral and practical activities, with the addition of reading and writing as they progress. The emphasis is on songs, rhymes, stories, games and role plays and on making familiar classroom/home activities part of the language learning process.
By the end of the course, children have the opportunity to develop their language skills to an impressive level of creative language use.
