Licensee Frequently Asked Questions
What is a 'Licensee'?
A licensee is a self-employed individual who purchases a licence to use the La Jolie Ronde methodology and set up their own business teaching French and/or Spanish to children.
How much does the licence cost?
La Jolie Ronde is designed to be an affordable, low cost business opportunity for teachers of primary French and/or Spanish, but with great potential rewards and a change of lifestyle. Our licence fee is very competitive and outstanding value for money for a language learning method of such high quality.
What does the licence fee include?
Not only does the fee enable you to use the well established La Jolie Ronde name, but also gives you a vast array of other benefits including:
- a comprehensive operating manual and full training
- support from Head Office and your Area Coordinator, including marketing and educational advice
- as many teaching centres as you wish in your first year of teaching, and a one-off fee thereafter
- inclusion on a group public liability insurance policy
- free annual training meeting
- and much, much more
How much can I expect to earn?
La Jolie Ronde is designed to be an affordable, low cost business opportunity for teachers of primary French and/or Spanish, but with great potential rewards and a change of lifestyle. We are here to help you succeed, but ultimately it is up to you how much energy you put into developing your business and this will determine the level of rewards you will earn from it. The demand for children's French and Spanish lessons is very high, and the earning potential is there for those who want to succeed and want to turn their potential into success.
How many hours a week am I expected to work?
We suggest you begin by enrolling about 20-25 pupils. An average sized class has around 10 pupils, so this would mean you would be running up to 3 lessons a week. Each lesson is approximately 30 minutes long, so using these figures, you would be working 1.5 hours per week.
Do I have to be a native French or Spanish speaker?
No, but the level of your spoken French or Spanish is important to us, since La Jolie Ronde mainly concentrates on the speaking and listening skills. It is important for you to have a good accent and good pronunciation. We will need to have a short conversation with you in French or Spanish when you first contact us to assess your level.
Do I have to be a qualified teacher?
No, as comprehensive training in the La Jolie Ronde methodology is provided. If you have some teaching experience, this would be an advantage, but the programmes are designed so that non-specialist teachers can effectively deliver the lessons to the children. The most important qualification is your love and enthusiasm for the French language and your desire to teach children, coupled with your dynamism.
Can I teach nursery children?
Yes, We have 2 excellent French pre-school resources called Entre dans la Ronde and La Ronde des Petits.
Can I teach during the curriculum in primary schools?
Yes, certainly. If a school has approached you to teach during the curriculum or has contacted Head Office directly, then the school would purchase books for the pupils and would pay you a fixed fee to teach all children in the class.
Am I restricted to teaching from one place?
No, not at all. As your business expands and the demand for classes increases, you can open more and more centres. All you pay is a one-off fee of £50.00 + VAT per additional centre that you open. You do not need to pay an annual renewal fee for each centre.
Can I purchase the La Jolie Ronde material without buying a licence?
No, because the material is used under copyright and for this a licence needs to be purchased.
Will La Jolie Ronde help me to promote my classes?
Yes. We give you lots of help and encouragement with promoting your classes. We provide you with many leaflets, posters and letters and provide training and support.
Will I have the chance to meet other licensees?
Yes, you will be encouraged to observe La Jolie Ronde classes near you whilst you are marketing your classes and then you'll be invited to attend one of the annual meetings for all licensees and tutors in your region, which take place in different regions of the UK.
